A great helping hand for crying humanity
If one stands on a clear, dark night, far from the blinding lights of a city and gazes upwards towards the starry sky, the magnificent sight fills one with a great curiosity. This is our natural curiosity about the unknown, our insatiable desire to know our place in the universe. It has been established over ages that the planets right up there in the solar system have a formidable influence on human life-the turn of the events in his/her life are largely shaped by the stars in the galaxy. Seasonal changes, occurrences of natural calamities, the rhythmic life pattern of plants and animals, tidal waves, weather patterns are all synonymous with movements of planets in relation to earth's movements. Due to this changing pattern, lives of men are also in a state of flux-the science, which can analyze and interpret the results of these influences is called "Astrology". And Astrology is considered as the eyes of Veda thus it is said that "Jyotish Vedanam Chaksu".
Astrology is a combination of science and metaphysics. To make an correct horoscope from the birth particulars is a scientific process requiring considerable expertise, skill and application. There are five basic elements in the human system, which directly co-relate to parallel elements in the solar system and this is precisely where the crux of the issue lies. Hence, going in for an extensive and intensive astrological study is a pretty arduous task because each movement of each planet owing to its position in the respective birth chart has to be closely monitored-a complex and intricate task. Just as we can decipher the impact of astrological science on an individual's life pattern, it is similarly analyzed for a nation or a country.
India is accepted as the leading country in the field of astro-sciences by world-renowned astrologers. The ancient Indian 'Atharva Veda' is the starting point of Indian astrology, in which it is clearly indicated that all the sciences of the world may have flaws or defects but astrology is an absolute science. The great Indian astrologer 'Bhrigu' propounded the results of his study on an astrological basis, so lucidly that even today after a considerable lapse of time, Whatever the ancient Indian philosopher propounded on astrology is relevant with full force.
And, here lies the greatest difference between Indian astrology and western astrology. Indian astrology is based on the position of moon, whereas western astrology is based around sun. The predictions based on moon's position mean that by the action of the moon, flow-tides and ebb-tides occur on Earth. Similarly, moon influences the water balance in human body, which is 60%. This water balance, on the other hand, controls our bodies and mind. According to Indian astrology one day includes twelve signs and every twenty-four hours the moon's position is different, so, the predictions vary and tend to be more accurate. But, in the western system one month has one sun sign and the predictions are made according to planet's position around the sun. It's Influence, according to location, determines not only the seasons but also the general nature and character of persons born at that time. So, the predictions vary to a great. |
